About the AP Course
AP U.S. History is a yearlong class designed to be the equivalent of a two-semester introductory college-level U.S. History course. It focuses on developing historical thinking skills such as chronological thinking, making comparisons, putting events into their historical context, constructing arguments and defending them using historical evidence, and analyzing primary sources. It covers information from prior to Columbus' arrival in the Americas all the way through to present day.

The Exam |
The exam is 3 hours and 15 minutes long. It will take place on May 6, 2016. The exam will include short answer questions, new rubrics for the grading of the DBQ (document-based question) and long essay question, and the style of multiple choice questions where each question will be related to a document rather than just a standalone question.
